Recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage site along with the Paseo del Prado promenade (together called “El Paisaje de la Luz”, the Landscape of Light).

We shall revisit some of the most important periods in Madrid’s history, when the former Palacio del Buen Retiro was transformed into a public garden in the 19th century and thus opened up leisure opportunities for the middle classes that until then had been the preserve of the aristocracy.
